MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to debunk the myths and stigmas that surround menopause so that women especially, and society in general, can embrace the potency, power and opportunity of this transition; explore innate wisdoms to boost confidence and health; and proactively inform, educate, and inspire this community.
We host Modern Menopause™ yoga retreats around the world with master teachers whose styles encompass the full spectrum of specialties dealing with all stages of menopause. We also embrace complementary philosophies including yoga and Ayurveda, mindfulness and meditation, nutrition, TCM and nature-centered spirituality.
We recognize both the privilege and responsibility to nurture sustainable and holistic communities and preserve cultural traditions that embrace and inspire Inclusivity.
JAN SCOTT
After 30+ years of film production in Hollywood with 20 of those teaching yoga, one learns how to let the pendulum swing between chaos and Zen.
At 30, Jan was producing films in Hollywood living on the beach in Malibu. Spending a month in Kenya with the gorgeous Maasai tribes triggered her obsession with saying ‘yes’ to the “unknown adventure”.
Next came trekking in Nepal, beach bumming in Australia, studying Mayan Spiritual Bathing in Belize, practicing that healing modality in Serbia and Croatia, falling deeper in love with teaching yoga in remote Greek villages, the idyllic south of France, and hosting clifftop poetry workshops in California.
All of these adventures became Jan’s blueprint to lead worldwide yoga retreats because when you realize what you love most is watching curious and enthusiastic strangers dig deep, explore nature and morph into more of their real selves, all of ones passions magically collide.
And that’s the extraordinary power of our retreats.
DIANA PHILLIPS
Diana grew up wanting to join the circus. When she graduated with a degree in Journalism from the University of Kentucky she did just that and devoted her career to the 3-ring big top of advertising. As a creative director she made campaigns at basecamp in the Himalayas, the deserts of Morocco, the sparkle and sophistication of Milan and Hamburg. Yoga converted a life of chaos and excess to one of balance.
Yoga became even more of a balm when menopause hit. And boy, did it! Every symptom, every day for about 8 years. That’s when menopause became a passion. Yoga + menopause + 1.5 billion women in midlife by 2025 and viola! Modern Menopause™!
Diana is 200HR Yoga Alliance certified, 100HR YTT Women’s Health, a Level 3 Reiki master, and a student of Ayurveda. She has studied with Deep Kumar, Vijeth Kumar, Kimberly Utama, Byron De Marse, Rachel Ellery, Bex Tryer, Jasmine Danino, and Anouk Penholdz.
PS Jan and Diana are from Joplin, Missouri, home of the infamous tornado. (The rumour that tthe are witches just isn’t true.) They met at Parkwood High School while conspiring about bands and decorations for their Junior-Senior prom. Wait til you hear their playlists!
